Snatch

This is another one of those films that I am SHOCKED I had not previously viewed. It was recommended to me several times, but I never put forth the effort to actually get the movie to my home so that I could view it. But now that I've seen it, I can't wait to recommend it to others! Guy Richie does not have a very extensive resume, so I have not seen many of his films...the one other film that I have seen (Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels) was also great...but Snatch was better. The casting alone is priceless, and I'm not even talking about Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, or Jason Statham. Don't get me wrong, they were remarkable (especially Brad Pitt as the confounding Irish street boxer), but the ensemble as a whole was incredible. There were several actors who I had never heard of, but that did not deter me from enjoying their performance and hoping to see more from them. The film was well directed and written (both by Guy Richie) and consisted of an interesting story that at first appeared to be scattered all over the place, but that comes together in the end. It is a smart action film that requires the viewer to think as they watch. I was engrossed in every second of the movie trying to put all the pieces together. I do not recommend watching this film while you are trying to multi-task because it commands your full attention. Overall, I am giving in 4 pigs.
