This film was another attempt by former (and current) Saturday Night Live stars to make it on the big screen. Some have been successful, others have not. This one falls in the "not" category. As much as I love Will Arnett in Arrested Development (a must see for people who love to laugh...just give it a chance!) and 30 Rock, I think he should stick to what he is good at...television. He has chosen to participate in several films that have some potential for great comedy, but have fallen a little short (in my opinion). He has been cast in 9 movies that are scheduled to premiere in the next two years, which means to me that he is in high demand for movies that do not take long to produce...which is not always a great quality. This movie is about two brothers who develop a plan to provide their dying father with a grandson. However, in true SNL form, the brothers are social misfits who are unable to even get a date, let alone impregnate someone. Don't get me wrong, there were definitely some funny parts to this movie. And if you love films like Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura, then you will probably like this movie. Unfortunately, as I mature, so do my tastes in comedy movies, and this film was very amateurish in my mind. It was just not smart comedy...in fact, I felt a little dumber after watching it. So, I'm going to give it 1 1/2 pigs...at least it wasn't the worst movie I've seen this summer!
