Arrested Development

Prior to discussing my opinion of this television series, I need to make something clear...I am a HUGE Simpsons fan. I think it is the greatest satire of American life that has ever been created, and I will forever be grateful to FOX for producing such a smart, witty comedy for my enjoyment. That being said, I also need to make it known that Arrested Development is, by far, the BEST series ever produced by the FOX network. The cast is phenomenal, working flawlessly together to create unforgettable characters and relationships that could rival any of the classic sitcom ensembles.

Mitchell Hurwitz needs to be recognized for the clever writing, as well as the creative and original quirks that only this series can claim ownership of. And Ron Howard's narration is classic, providing the perfect combination of wit and dry humor to tie each scene together. But credit must also be given to the cast and their impeccable delivery of the well-written lines, as well as their ability to improvise to take the scene to another level. I could write for hours about each member of this cast and what I love about each specific character, but I have to keep this short. So all I will say is this...I have never laughed out loud more than when watching this show. It is absolutely hilarious, and is not only worth watching, but is worth owning. The one flaw is that there were only 3 seasons of this series...I could have watched at least a dozen. But, on the bright side, an Arrested Development movie is in the making and is scheduled to be released in 2010. I can't wait! I don't usually give comedies 5 pigs, but this series is so exceptional that it deserves nothing less. I would recommend it to anyone who has a sense of humor.
