If you can't tell, we are kind of on a zombie movie kick right now (my hubby LOVES scary movies, and I am not easily scared, so I'm constantly looking for a REAL scary movie). This is George A. Romero's very first zombie movie and, having seen some of his later work, I have to say that he has definitely improved over time. This was not bad for a first attempt, but personally I thought it was more comical than scary. One of my favorite lines comes from a scene when there are 6 people in the living room of the house, and one of the men looks at the other two men and states something like "If we all three work together..." showing the audience that he feels that the women are completely useless and unable to help them. Now, I'm no feminist, but I thought that was a very sexist comment. However, later in the show, the women prove that they really are useless and only around to drag the men down. Interesting. Anyway, if you are interested in Romero's work, then this movie will be worth your time. If you are not, then don't bother...1 pig.
