WALLE

I have always enjoyed Disney movies, and since they joined with Pixar, the quality of the films has continued to improve. As always, the animation was incredible, and the story was creative and entertaining. Even without the ability to speak, WALLE is one of the most charismatic and endearing characters of his time. Some might say that there were some political underpinnings in the film that left a bad taste in their mouth (especially if you dislike politics infiltrating family films...I remember my dad never let us watch Ferngully growing up due to the politics depicted in the film...not because the politics were wrong, but simply because he felt they have no place in a family film). Personally, I can see why people might feel that there are politics in this film (specifically regarding the status of the environment, as well as where technology might be taking our physical bodies), but I don't think the underlying goal of the filmmakers was solely to draw attention to these issues. Of course, the viewers must take it as they see it and evaluate their own beliefs and their personal biases to determine their own feelings about the film, but I enjoyed it. Was it the best Disney/Pixar movie ever made? No. But it was a fun film, and worth watching. I will give it four pigs.
