I think it is funny that I always discuss the actors and actresses that I like and dislike when I am critiquing a film. But I have to explain to everyone who might read this that I might be biased, so if you really enjoy the actors that I don't care for (or vice versa) then you might not want to take what I have to say at face value. I had to give this disclaimer prior to writing my opinions of this film because I don't like Matthew McConaughey...at all. Some people really like him, but I do not think that he has versatility as an actor. I think he always plays the exact same character, and this film was no different. He did exude a little more integrity than is normal for his characters, but the other character flaws were so abundant that I was not able to enjoy this movie. There were some funny moments, but I was not captivated by any of the main characters enough to care about what happens to them. I felt the plot was promising, but there were so many holes in the finished project that squashed the potential. However, I did shed a small tear for Donald Sutherland when he reads his daughters text message...how sad to realize that your child only wants to see you to get your money! Overall I was not impressed, but will be giving the movie 2 pigs due to the few touching and endearing moments.

You are funny! Now quit wasting your time watching movies like Fool's gold and start blogging and commenting on reality tv...I actually saw this one by the way. You know that I like MM...but agree with you on his acting skills...but, he and Kate H are funny together...I didn't mind the movie...good one for an afternoon viewing!
